Some of you might remember this post about a few local audiosorcerers that call themselves 4004. Some of you may recall even further back to all the times I've mentioned my 'homie Kyle' telling me about some awesome mix or artist. Well, the time has come for a good friend of Shadow Shogun to get his spotlight post.

MrDr (which is technically said Mister Doctor, but you can go ahead and call him Murder, it's plenty cool either way - he's a tricky one) has been a very close friend, a partner in crime, a critical voice, a like-mind musically, and an all around great influence in my life since we first met. I like to think I've been the best bad influence in his, for the one time that he told me I was responsible for corrupting his young impressionable mind to the beauty and potential of Dubstep. I can say without the slightest touch of shame or embarassment that he has far surpassed my knowledge, dedication and talent in his pursuit of musical enlightenment. He's constantly diving into the depths of Dubstep's multi-faceted sounds and unearthing the DOPEST shit to show me whenever we link up, he's an incredible DJ whose track selection and crowd control is something to witness, and his recent foray into the world of production is yielding more and more positive results all the time.

What has recently come about has made me proud as a friend and fan. MrDr has cultivated his own sound and carved out his own niche in the realm of spacey, sub-heavy robo-funk. In both his mixing and production styles, he is my personal trailguide to what I like to think of (in my literary terminology) as post-modern dubstep, or future bass. I'm pleased to big him up, and share his musical acumen (which, for those that don't know, is defined as "quickness, accuracy, and keenness of judgment or insight") with the readers of this blog.
