An Affair Fit for Cupid

(FUNK)

Allow me to wish a Happy Valentines Day to our oh-so-lovable collection of readers and followers. I hope those of you with dates get some booty and those of you without still spend the day with someone you love, be they family or friends. I have a nice feel-good soundtrack for the day that you can bump in either case - it can set the mood, or it can be some feel-real-good background beats.

The El Michels Affair remind me of a line from Nas' track 'Bridging the Gap,' that is, they ascribe to the "old school, new school, no school rules." There's definitely a throwback to that beautiful old Mo-Town sound, but there's enough to differentiate them and make them sound unique. They're also very much influenced by old school hip hop, but with their own 'new' twist, as you can find remixes and collaborations they've done with different artists, most notably (and most prolifically) the Wu Tang Clan. The album is nice and organic and warm. I've been listening to it constantly over the last couple days and I really love it. I hope you will too.

Download, listen, love...

El Michels Affair - Sounding Out The City

(As this is a full album on mediafire, I want to leave the disclaimer in the post that if anyone wants us to take this down our e-mail is on the right column of the screen.)
