Surprises are nice. Especially when you open your email to find amongst the random spam and nonsense a gem - in this case, a pair of gems. Well, to be even more precise, a couple of compilations from the forward thinking ears and minds at Jus Like Music, featuring a huge cast of artists (Greymatter, S. Maharba, Slugabed, Oddisee, BUG, Om Unit, Mr. Beatnick, & more) and a great diversity of styles. Through it all there is a very funky crunchy vibe that bangs out opposite some wonky drums and basslines that I dig. I think you might too.
At the very least, there is enough here to suit many tastes, so go through them for yourself and see what hits you.
