4 pack of goodies
I got 4 mixes for the massive today after my extended hiatus. The hard drive on my computer got completely fried, putting me out of commission in more than a couple things for quite some time... regardless, here they are...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First up is a mix done by Preacha of all James Blake tracks. I didn't know who this guy was until a couple weeks ago when my homie Kyle (aka MrDr) told me to check him out. I LIKE him, very very smooth dubstep in the vein of Silkie and Starkey. Play this one when it's time to chill and contemplate. Download, listen, love...
Preacha - James Blake is the Future
(DUBSTEP)
*EDIT* - Meta said the link didn't work for him. You can nab it here too.
Next up is an old live mix from Fort Knox Five. If you checked the FK5 mix I put up here a while ago for the Light and Soul post, this was recorded at around the same time and has alot of the same tracks. If you've bumped it alot you might find this one a little redundant, but if you haven't... you're in for a treat. Funky, kickass summertime vibes aplenty in this one. Download, listen, love...
Fort Knox Five - Live on Four Decks at the Belly Up Aspen
(FUNK/BREAKS/HIP HOP)
Third on deck is a nice roller-laden mix contributed to Dogs on Acid by the one and only Makoto. If you hear a DJ is coming from Japan, it's always safe to assume that they have smoothed out super jazzy vibes and are almost always worth a listen. Included is the link to the article and interview on Dogs on Acid, a good one if you're interested in digging a little deeper into DnB. Just right click on the 'download the mix' bar at the bottom and 'Save As'. Download, listen, love...
Makoto - DOA Serato Mix Series Vol. 9
(DRUM'N'BASS)
I was told as a child that I should always save the best for last. This last one is a special unannounced guest's mix at the massive Glastonbury festival. The masked knight who came to the ranks in this case was none other than the grand ambassador of Dubstep, the man known as Skream. If you don't know how he rolls, you oughtta enjoy finding out over the course of this mix. He mixes from all sides of the genre and even outside of it pretty much flawlessly. Download, listen, love...
(PS - Another big ups to Kyle/MrDr for putting me on to this mix. Isn't that guy awesome?)
Skream -Live at Glastonbury 2010
(DUBSTEP)
(All tracklistings available in the links)
