Personally I think that Nas' classic rap record 'Illmatic' is one of my all-time favorites, and it's not just me that would say so. Some people might front for this or that reason but when you get down to it most cats would have a hard time saying that it wasn't inspirational or monumental or just a straight up quality release. I know that Fashawn agrees, because he recently teamed up with the infamous DJ Green Lantern to put together a tribute to the record in question, and keeping in mind that Green Lantern is Nas' DJ one might safely assume that Fashawn has Nas' ear for this one. While shying away from eclipsing the original record this is a solid release that stands up tall among a slew of would be tributes and recreations to hold it down as a new summer jam for the masses.
