Robert Glasper + Dela

So, I opened my laptop today with the intention of sharing a little jazz and jazz remixed. I get to the shadow shogun page and see that my brother has beat me to it, but that just means that you all get a double feature. I'll keep my post short, though, so you all don't get scared away from the music by all of the words...

Robert Glasper is a piano/keys man who knows how to tinkle the old ivory. Representing jazz and hip hop with equal skill and gusto, Mr. Glasper has immense talent and vibes, working with a who's who list in both the hip hop and jazz circles around the world. Please please check his site, his myspace, his facebook and learn more. Listen to his music. Check his videos. Like this one, live in Houston featuring Mos Def.

I'm not gonna post a free link, cause this dude's got his thing out there on iTunes and whatnot. His website has a bunch of free music that streams upon arrival. If you dig it, dig him up.

Dela is a producer drenched in soul and samples, and a DJ too, who has been steady working making beautiful beat-centric music for a minute. His list of collaboraters reads like a dream team of true school rappers and musicians - maybe you recognize him from a joint with Elzhi, Blu, Talib Kweli, Supastition, or Slum Village. Extra bonus points for living in Montreal!

He recently spent a bit of time reworking Robert Glasper's work 'In My Element' into the lovely little instrumental release appropriately titled 'The Robert Glasper Beat Tape'. I have had a hard time not listening to it every day. Great true school instumental beats. He has more good stuff out there too so check for him.
