Three heavy hitters from the DMV/DC area. Once again.
Oddisee - 'Odd Winter'
( HIP HOP / INSTRUMENTAL / RAP )
Let it be known, Oddisee is one of my favorite people making music. Period. His range and his chops and his ear and so on and so on... much play from Meta. Much respect is due. Every season he comes out with a new soundtrack for the vibes and days to play out with, and it carries on with this, his latest free release, 'Odd Winter'. In his typical fashion, he provides an assortment of interesting and great beats with some tracks featuring guest rappers like Tranqill, X.O., and Stik Figa. Please check it out and get into it. Even if winter is pretty much done out here in Van (sorry Olympics).
DTMD - 'The Basics' EP
( HIP HOP / RAP )
Consisting of rapper Toine and producer Dunc (Dunc + Toine Makin Dollas) comes this super nice EP drenched in old school chops and phasey filters, coming really nice with some buttery smooth flows and styles. Nothing wrong with a new school celebrating the true school shit and bringing their own twist on it while still showing respect to those who are around them, those who came up before and made it possible for the new cats to shine. Six tracks of nice rap music and real nice beats.
X.O. - One.One.Ten
( HIP HOP / RAP )
More of the real heat coming from X.O. of the Diamond District. Bringing it back around on this one are producers like Oddisee, AB, and Soulful. If you like the style of the other stuff linked here, or some of the Diamond District shit previously posted, please check this out. A mixture of classic sample based bangers and some newer styled synth and clap boomers. More rap for people who like rap, from people who like all sorts of good music.
Please enjoy people!
