A Hit Of Vancouver

I live in Vancouver now, for those who don't know, but the music that has come from the coast I've been into for as long as I can remember listening to music... today I'll up a couple downloads from some Vancouver music men.



From Jeff Spec, the man who's one of the first people I heard reppin Van years ago, we have two offerings. The first is a feature release with e.d.g.e. and the second is an EP Jeff did with my homie LoKeynote, another Vancouver transplant who I knew from his time in Calgary some years ago. Another Vancity local rude boy is Stylust, aka Stylust Beats, who DJs here in town and abroad, makes some rowdy beats and remixes, and runs a couple groups focused on all the hottest dubs and remixes and the like, among other things.... His soundclick group for dubstep remixes of hip hop tracks can be found here and I believe he has some slightly more exclusive invite only shit too. I found out about him through a local beat battle series called Vanquish and he has really caught me off guard!! Dude is ill. Check out his dubnext 2009 mix for a taste of his style - some of his own production/remixes alongside some saucy dubs and tracks.

In case you are attracted to neither soul clap hip hop or dubstep/thugstep, our last entry for today is a plug for my homie Chadio and his crew mate Azrael. Azrael just dropped his latest album 'The Doldrums' and you can find that shit yourselves, because I'm here to give you free, legal(ish) downloads... on that tip, I'm gonna post a link to not one but two free downloads courtesy of these two members of the Imaginations Treetrunk posse. Although they share the same title, there are in fact two separate releases with Chadio and Azrael respectively rocking their very natural and jazzy styles; if you want another taste of Vancouver here is a crew and style that is quite distinct and very nice.
