Make way for the Lords of the party-rockin' jams, the masters of the mashups, the ever-versatile and original Stickypod Connection. Moving seamlessly from reggae jungle to hip hop to funk to dancehall to rock to breaks to house (but we'll forgive em for that) and all the way back with the zaniest mashups they always make sound so damn nice, these guys know how to rock the proverbial joint.
Ever wonder what Weezer would sound like blended with Blue Boy? How about Shaggy and Rage Against the Machine? Tom Jones and Marcus Visionary? Sublime and Nick Thayer? I'll give you a hint, when these guys do it it sounds DOPE. Clever, non-stop mixes laced heavily with acapella's throughout the jams, with lots of material from those West Coast MC's from the J5 and Solesides crews, those 90's alt-rock bands, and classic oldies (JB/Marvin/Stevie) as the flavor for their selection of constantly bangin' beats.
Now, for the last 3 years, these 2 (Stickybuds and J-Pod the Beat Chef) have held down 3 hour sets at Shambhala, putting massive amounts of work in to make it sound as proper as possible, and after the fact they go through the process of putting it all back together for people like me and you. Now theres a bit of nostalgia where I can hear the parts of their sets I was present for in these mixes, but regardless, their 08 mix is a certified classic, top 3 mix all time for me. They just put out their 09 set and I can tell you now it's gonna be getting alot of love from me too.
